Digital Resource Guide

Using a flight simulator software package, set a course and fly the headings you have established with a successful take-off and landing.

There are a variety of flight simulator programs out there – Microsoft Flight Simulator is one of the more popular options. If your counselor does not have one, chances are that someone in your unit may have one already. You might also contact flight training facilities in your area that may be able to provide access to one of their simulators.

Ideally, try to find an experienced pilot who can demonstrate proper flying techniques as there is a lot to learn to be able to take off and land – safely!

Which flight simulator program have you used? Check all that apply.

Simulators are safe because they are just computer-generated images. Learn about safety in real aircraft by learning about preflight inspections (go to 3b) and routine maintenance (go to 3c) which help make sure that your aircraft is safe to fly!
