Fundamentals of Training

Updated curriculum and new names for Fundamentals of Training & Trainer’s EDGE

In 2024 a task force team was assembled to review and update Fundamentals of Training and Trainers EDGE.  The updated curriculum was piloted at Philmont Training Center and initially released in the fall of 2024.  Several councils hosted the new versions of these training programs and provided feedback to the Scouting U team.  The task force team responded to that feedback and additional updates were made.  The final versions were released on June 2, 2025.

Along with the updated curriculum comes new names for both.

Fundamentals Part 1: Science of Training – formerly Fundamentals of Training.

Fundamentals Part 2: Craft of Training – formerly Trainers EDGE.
