Merit Badges > Digital Resource Guides > Camping > Requirement 7
After the campout is planned and the food and gear are gathered, Scouts need to pack in a way that is comfortable, balanced, neat, and easy to carry. Each Scout may carry personal gear as well as a share of patrol equipment, such as part of a tent, pots, a stove, or food.
A well-packed backpack is not just about fitting everything inside. The way gear is arranged can make the pack more comfortable, balanced, and useful on the trail. Items needed quickly, such as rain gear, water, trail food, a flashlight, and a first-aid kit, should be easy to reach.
New digital resource guides for three merit badges, Camping, Cooking and Swimming are now available. No pamphlet required, check them out today!
