Position: Adult Learning Delivery Specialist
Position location: Irving, Texas (TX)
Position Overview

Scouting U is seeking a dynamic and experienced facilitator to join our team as a Learning Delivery Specialist, reporting to the Supervisor of Training. In this role, you will design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality training programs that support the growth and development of employees, professional scouters, managers, volunteers, and scout leaders. Training is delivered through a variety of methods, including instructor-led courses, seminars, online and webcast presentations, and interactive sessions.

The Learning Delivery Specialist also conducts follow-ups to assess the applicability of course material and ensures that all training initiatives are aligned with organizational needs, performance goals, and learner outcomes, creating meaningful and impactful learning experiences. This position may require up to 30% travel to deliver training programs and support learning initiatives across various locations.

Responsibilities
  • Instructs or facilitates training and learning programs for employees, commissioned professionals, and managers, as well as scouting volunteers and scout leaders.
  • Coordinates the ongoing analysis, review, and development of assigned courses to update training materials as needed to keep them current with business needs. Works with subject matter experts to identify training needs.  Keeps other facilitators up to date with changes that have been made in the syllabus.
  • Conducts or facilitates internal educational or direct-service training programs.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
Competencies
  • Knowledge of:  Education and training; educational methods and instruction techniques; basic learning characteristics; needs assessment and evaluation methods.
  • Skill in: Communicating clearly both verbally and in writing; developing and instructing training procedures; coordinating multiple projects simultaneously; operating a personal computer including standard word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to: Speak clearly and write expressively.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in education, communication or related field from an accredited college or university.

Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in developing and conducting training programs.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% to conduct training.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check and driver’s license check.
Licenses
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and be able to operate a motor vehicle.

Preference
  • Commissioned/Certified Professional.
  • Any combination of experience and knowledge of delivering Scouting programs (e.g. volunteer, field, training, etc.).
  • Council level program or development (fundraising) experience.
