Supervisor Facility Services - Philmont
Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven Supervisor, Facility Services – Philmont, to oversee the daily operations of our farms and roads. This role is responsible for ensuring that property, equipment, and infrastructure are managed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
With a focus on sustainability and operational excellence, this position leads staff and stewards resources to support core programs—managing everything from farming, agriculture cultivation, water rights and resources, machinery, equipment, roads to camp facilities and maintenance services. This position requires you to live onsite in provided housing. The Supervisor, Facility Services – Philmont, reports to the Manager, Ranching.
Responsibilities
- Manages and provides oversight and direction to staff to ensure land, property, and equipment are maintained in adherence to safety regulations and standards and in an efficient manner. Set priorities for the staff to ensure completion of tasks. Provides guidance and training to staff to develop staff; demonstrates or explains working techniques, practices, and safety regulations.
- Manages the operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities for the business unit. Maintains operational, financial and production records. Prepares budget and financial reports.
- Oversees the purchasing of equipment, and supplies.
- Responsible for the inspection of structures and facilities such as buildings, grounds, fences, and roads. Responsible for the inspection of equipment to ensure proper functioning; identifies, assesses, negotiates as necessary, and resolves building maintenance and usage problems. Manages repairs and maintenance activities.
- Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Knowledge of: Facilities maintenance procedures, including buildings, grounds, landscaping, equipment, and machinery; relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to natural resources, water rights, environmental protection, and workplace safety; budgeting, financial management, and purchasing procedures.
- Skill in: Using equipment (including heavy equipment), and tools for maintenance and construction; understanding of landscaping and agricultural practices; ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality in all aspects of work; identifying issues, analyzing causes, implementing solutions, evaluating effectiveness; project management, workflow optimization, resource allocation, budgeting, time management; effective communication, team building, delegation, motivation, performance evaluation, conflict resolution.
- Ability to: Perform work outdoors in various weather conditions including strenuous exercise and occasional heavy lifting; operate and maintain a variety of equipment; manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively; lead, coach, and motivate a team of facilities personnel.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
Qualifications
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in facilities management, grounds maintenance, agriculture, or a related field, including leading and managing personnel.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above-specified education and experience requirements.

Preference
