Position Overview

We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our finance leadership team as Senior Vice President of Finance and Treasury.

The Senior Vice President of Finance and Treasury will direct and plan all strategic treasury, contracting and finance activities for the organization and ensure compliance with all related government/regulatory reporting requirements. They will lead financial planning, play an integral role in partnering with the EVP & CFO in overseeing the organization’s financial operations and will provide financial guidance to the CFO and other management team leadership. They will lead budgeting and forecasting for the overall organization and perform other ad hoc projects as needed. This position reports to the EVP and Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the cash management, credit, and financial analysis functions of the organization and the maintenance of Treasury information systems. Provide oversight of all assets and contracts.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the finance and Treasury teams, including establishing job duties and position requirements, hiring, training, motivating, reviewing, and rewarding performance. Serve as an escalation point for issues; resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical problems.
  • Assist the CFO in the strategic management of the corporation’s Treasury function including administration, operational, budgetary, staffing, client communications, and reporting functions. Assist the CFO with banking administration.
  • Direct the development of the budget and audit processes for all Treasury functions.
  • Responsible for all managerial finance reporting and analysis, and the use of managerial performance metrics to lead and influence process and results improvements throughout the operations.
  • Monitor cash and its sources and use and ensure that income generated by the various portfolios supports the BSA’s GOF funding requirements. Manage the care and custody of the organization’s cash, financial assets, and banking operations. Determine the amount and sources of funds to meet outstanding and planned commitments.
  • Serve as the principal leader for instituting effective controls in cash management, collections, and Treasury information systems. Comply with all governmental and regulatory reporting requirements.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in capital project financial analysis, budgeting and interpreting financial statement drivers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in identifying, managing and mitigating financial risk.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.

Preferences:

  • Master of Business Administration.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Eagle Scout or knowledge of Scouting.

Location

The BSA headquarters is located in Irving, Texas and the majority of administrative staff are based in this location, including the SVP of Finance and Treasury.  The BSA is a national organization with high adventure bases and supply service facilities located throughout the United States.
