Position Overview

Responsibilities

The district executive manages the overall growth, extension, quality, program enhancement, and supervision of the Scouting program within a specified geographical area. The Executive oversees a District Operations Board who in turn support, train, and motivate the adult volunteers delivering the Scouting program. Though most of the work deals with human relations, fundraising administration and public relations are vital additional duties of the district executive.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (transcript with the date degree conferred stated is required for employment).

Qualifications

Must be willing to accept and meet the Boy Scouts of America’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law.

Attained 21 years of age or older unless prohibited by any applicable law.

Ability to work varied hours when necessary.

Be willing to relocate to service area.

Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference and motor vehicle background checks.

A scouting background is not required for employment.

Benefits

District Executives starting salary begins at $40,000 – $42,000. Other benefits include major medical and prescription coverage, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, accidental death, a defined benefit retirement plan, plus additional monthly compensation for business phone and fuel. We also offer a PTO policy and fourteen holiday observances. Annual increase in salary is determined by an individual’s overall performance.

He is the founder of Caljet, one of the largest independent motor fuels terminals in the U.S. He has served the Arizona Petroleum Marketers Association, Teen Lifeline, and American Heart Association. A triathlete who has completed hundreds of races, Alexander has also mentored the women’s triathlon team at Arizona State University.

He has more than 40 years of experience in the oil, gas, and energy fields, including serving as a president, owner, and CEO. Adams has also received multiple service awards from the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.
