Welcome to the Scouts BSA Membership Corner!
Welcome to your launchpad for growing and strengthening your troop! Here you’ll find everything you need to recruit new Scouts, retain current ones, and build a thriving, youth-led program that lives the patrol method every day.
Start with the Membership Menu—choose any 10 activities to complete throughout the year to build a strong rhythm of recruitment and engagement.
Next, use Troop Builder Planning Checklist to evaluate and strengthen your troop’s recruitment, retention, and program plans. Check what’s working well, note areas to grow, and revisit it twice a year to track progress.
Then, explore the rest of the site for more tools, webinars, and ready-to-use resources designed to help your troop stay active and welcoming.
Growth isn’t one person’s job—it’s everyone’s. When every Scout, parent, and leader plays a part, the troop grows stronger, the program gets richer, and every youth enjoys a more rewarding adventure.

Community Engagement
Help Spread the Word: Partner with Your Pediatrician
New Initiative: Sharing Scouting’s Benefits in Medical Offices
We’re launching an exciting new community outreach effort that puts the power of advocacy directly in the hands of our Scout families. Many pediatricians regularly recommend physical activity, social engagement, and confidence-building activities to support healthy child development – but they may not know how perfectly Scouting programs align with these medical recommendations. That’s where you come in!
We’re encouraging Scout parents to share our specially designed handout with their child’s pediatrician during routine wellness visits. The process is simple:
- Print the handout before your child’s next appointment.
- Bring it with you to the wellness visit.
- After the exam, briefly explain that Scouting supports healthy child development.
- Ask if they would display it in their waiting room or exam rooms.
- Offer to email the digital file if they’d prefer to print their own copies.
Quick Script for Parents:
“Dr. [Name], would you consider displaying this Scouting handout in your office? It highlights how Scouting promotes physical activity, emotional wellness, and social development – all things that support your health recommendations for kids. Many families might not know about these benefits. My own child has gained so much confidence and made great friends since joining our local troop.”
By connecting with healthcare providers in our community, we can help more families discover the developmental benefits that Scouting offers their children.
