New Infographic Clarifies Rules for Scouts BSA Linked Troops

Frequently, chartered organizations sponsor multiple troops. For example, a chartered organization may sponsor a troop for boys and a troop for girls. This is called a ‘linked troop’ – multiple troops served by a single chartered organization sharing a troop committee.

The concept of linked troops was introduced in 2019 to deliver the value of Scouting to both boys and girls and assist in the development of new units. Linked troops ensure boy troops and girl troops can meet at the same time and place*,* offering greater convenience for families. Openings and closings of the meetings can be held together or separately depending on space and local prerogative. Both troops have the same committee, each troop should have a dedicated Scoutmaster and assistant Scoutmasters can be shared or dedicated based on COR prerogative.

David Alexander

He is the founder of Caljet, one of the largest independent motor fuels terminals in the U.S. He has served the Arizona Petroleum Marketers Association, Teen Lifeline, and American Heart Association. A triathlete who has completed hundreds of races, Alexander has also mentored the women’s triathlon team at Arizona State University.

He has more than 40 years of experience in the oil, gas, and energy fields, including serving as a president, owner, and CEO. Adams has also received multiple service awards from the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.
