Two teams are formed and earn points by grabbing a tennis ball and returning to their side before getting tagged.
Get details on the Fun & Games specifications.
The team with the most points wins after either a set amount of time or a set number of points. Grab the tennis ball “the bacon” and run back to your side without getting tagged.
Find an area 50 ft. x 25 ft. free of hazards. Mark off the corners of the area with cones and two additional cones halfway on the 50 ft. sides to identify the side boundary.
Form two lines facing each other about 25 feet apart. Place a tennis ball in the center. Count off the Cub Scouts in each line from opposite directions. The leader calls out a number, and the opponents with that number run to the center. The object of the game is for a Cub Scout to snatch the tennis ball and get back to their side without being tagged by the Cub Scout with the same number from the other side. Players must stay in the designated space., If a player runs out of bounds, play ends and the bacon is returned to the center and a new number is called. Score two points if a player brings the tennis ball back without being tagged. Score one point for the opposing team if the snatcher is tagged.
Level Up – Add more players by calling out more than one number.
Add math to the game. Instead of calling out a number, call out an equation that equals one of the numbers. For example; instead of calling out “5”, call out “25 divided by 5” or “2 plus 3”.
