Cub Scouts work sequentially as a team to create a specified object using modeling clay.
Get details on the Fun & Games specifications.
Create an object collectively with clay.
Place the drop cloth on the floor under the tables. Portion the clay or Play-Doh form up to 12 oz. portions; this would be for four players (3 oz. per player)
Have players sit around the table. Instruct players that, on “Go”, the first player with clay will have 30 seconds to work the clay and form the object called by the leader. After 30 seconds, the leader calls “Pass”.
When the leader calls Pass, players are to stop and pass their model to the next player on their left, who will immediately continue working to form the same object. After 30 seconds, the leader again calls “Pass”.
Form groups of no more than four. Distribute modeling clay to every fourth Cub Scout in the group.
Announce the object to make and give Cub Scouts “On your Mark, Get set, Go!”
Cub Scouts, (Lions and Tigers working with their adult partners), start forming the object with the clay. Every 30 seconds, call “Pass” until 3 minutes have passed in total. After 3 minutes have passed in total, call “Time is Up!” Cub Scouts show their creations.
Recommended Objects – consider simple items for younger Cub Scouts and more complex items for older Cub Scouts.
