Supply List

  • Individually wrapped stick of gum – one for each player
  • One pair of oversized/bulky work gloves for each team
  • Brown paper lunch bag for each team (large enough to fit the gloves in)

Objective

Be the first team to finish the relay by each member opening a paper bag and unwrapping a stick of gum while wearing work gloves.  If only one team can be formed, work to see if you can improve your time.

Set-Up

Identify an area free of hazards.

Directions

Each team lines up in a single file line.  The first person in line is given the brown paper lunch bag containing one pair of gloves and a stick of gum for each player on the team.  The relay starts with the first player on each team opening the bag, putting on the gloves, unwrapping a stick of gum with the gloves on, putting the gum in their mouth to start chewing, taking off the gloves, placing the gloves in the bag and then handing the bag to the next player.  The next player repeats the same steps and passes the bag, and so on.  When playing with more than one team, the first team to finish with all of its players completing the steps wins. When playing with only one team, repeat the relay to try to improve the team’s time.
