Relay race between two teams to keep a playground ball between their foreheads while racing back and forth.
Be the first team to get each player to complete the relay.
Identify a flat area free of hazards to conduct the relay. Use 2 feet of blue painter’s tape to mark a starting point for each team, and mark their turnaround point 25 feet from the starting point.
Players on the team count off and need to remember their number; this is the order in which they will go. The first two players on each team place a playground ball between their foreheads. On the signal, keeping the playground ball between their foreheads, they go as fast as they can to the turnaround point and return to their team’s starting point. If they drop the ball they return to the starting point and start over. When the first two players successfully run to the turnaround point and back without dropping the ball, they exchange players. When they exchange players, player #1 goes to the back of the line and player #2 and player #3 now run the relay; player #2 is running the relay for a second time. After a successful run, the exchange happens again, this time with player #2 going to the back of the line, and player #3 and player #4 running the relay, and so on. The race ends when player #1 runs the relay a second time with the last player; this way everyone runs the race twice, each time with a different partner.
