Supply List

  • Scissors
  • 12 pieces of blue yarn cut into 10-inch pieces
  • 12 pieces of yellow yarn cut into 10-inch pieces

Objective

The team to find and attach all 12 pieces of their tail to their “cat” wins.

Set-Up

Identify an area free of hazards.

Hide the 12 pieces of blue yarn and 12 pieces of yellow yarn in areas that are hard to see but easy to access.

Directions

Divide those who are playing into two teams, one blue and one gold.  One Cub Scout on each team is identified as the cat without a tail.  On a signal, all players search for their team’s color pieces of yarn that make up their cat’s tail.  As a piece is found, it is tied to the belt or belt loop of their cat.  The winner is the team whose cat has the longest tail at the end of 5 minutes or the team that finds all 12 pieces and attaches them to their cat first.
