Supply List

  • A neckerchief for each team to serve as the dragon’s tail

Objective

Catch the other dragon’s tail.

Set-Up

Identify a large open space free of hazards.  Identify boundaries for play.  For two dragons with four players making up each dragon, a good play area would be 100 feet by 50 feet or approximately the size of a basketball court.

Directions

To form a dragon, players on the team line up, one behind the other.  Everyone wraps their arms around the waist of the person in front of them.  The last person in line tucks a neckerchief into their back pocket.  Form the dragons on opposite ends of the playing area.

When both dragons are formed, the signal is given and the dragons begin chasing the tail of the other dragon.  When the tail of one dragon is caught, the team that caught the tail gets a point. Then  the players for both dragons change positions with the tail player becoming the head and everyone shifting back.  Once everyone has played as the tail, the team with the most points wins.
