The Field Manager serves a defined geographic area across Dutchess County, Putnam County, and Northern Westchester County. Success in this role comes from building strong volunteer teams, growing youth participation, and delivering high-quality Scouting programs throughout the community.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers and community leaders to deliver Scouting programs
- Build relationships with schools, community organizations, and local partners to grow membership
- Achieve participation and revenue goals for camps, activities, and programs
- Ensure all units receive consistent support through meetings, trainings, and events
- Maintain strong communication with volunteers, families, and community stakeholders
- Represent Scouting as a positive role model in the community
Competencies
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and organization
- Ability to build relationships with diverse groups
- Background in nonprofit work, sales, or marketing is a plus
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards
Education
- College degree preferred
Qualifications
- Must meet Scouting America leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Must be 21 years or older
