Position: Youth Development District Assistant
Position location: Hurst, Texas (TX)
Position Overview

Scouting America Longhorn Council seeks a Youth Development District Assistant to support district operations in membership growth, revenue development, customer service, and program delivery. This position reports to a Field Director or District Director and provides leadership within an assigned geographic area. This is a non-exempt, hourly position.

Responsibilities
  • Grow community partnerships with civic, religious, educational, and business groups.
  • Assist in meeting membership, fundraising, and program goals.
  • Demonstrate strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Interact effectively with diverse communities.
  • Support volunteer recruitment, training, and program execution.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and maintain professional conduct.
Qualifications
  • Ability to speak and write in Spanish (preferred, not required).
  • Experience in nonprofits, sales, fundraising, or community outreach.
  • Budgeting or fiscal management experience.
  • Scouting experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to support Scouting America’s leadership and membership standards and uphold the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel.
  • Offers are subject to criminal background check, reference check, and motor vehicle record review.
Benefits
  • $20.00 per hour (non-exempt).
  • An individual office and computer are provided.
  • Benefits include medical, prescription coverage, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, EAP, cell phone reimbursement ($75/mo), and business mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate.
  • Paid vacation and ten Council-observed holidays.
