Position Overview
Are you passionate about youth development and community impact? Black Swamp Area Council is seeking a mission-driven leader to serve as District Executive / Territory Manager, expanding Scouting’s reach across three vibrant counties in West Central Ohio. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to shape the future of young people and build stronger communities.
Responsibilities
As District Executive, you’ll:
- Lead community outreach to grow youth and adult membership.
- Launch new Scouting units and strengthen existing ones.
- Partner with local organizations to deliver high-quality youth programs.
- Inspire and support volunteers through training, mentorship, and recognition.
- Drive fundraising efforts to sustain and expand Scouting’s mission.
- Represent Scouting with professionalism and passion in public settings.
Competencies
- Skills-Based Mindset: Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Experience: Background in nonprofit work, sales, education, or youth development is a plus.
- Leadership: Self-motivated, ethical, and enthusiastic about making a difference.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working evenings and weekends when needed, with flex scheduling available.
- Commitment: Must subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law and meet Scouting America’s membership standards.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older.
- Willingness to travel for training (1–2 weeks annually).
- Background checks are required for employment.
