From Preview to Permanent Elective Adventure
- What began as a Preview Adventure has now become a permanent fixture in the Elective Adventure lineup for Cub Scouts. Through this program, Webelos learn essential yo-yo skills, including safe usage, proper stringing and winding, conducting pendulum experiments, and mastering tricks like the gravity pull, sleeper, and breakaway. These are the same tricks performed by yo-yo champions, and Cub Scouts have the unique opportunity to learn them from experts via online tutorials provided by Duncan Toys.
STEM Learning Component
- The Yo-Yo Elective Adventure Program also integrates STEM learning, teaching Scouts about the physics behind yo-yo tricks. By exploring concepts such as gravity, momentum, and energy transfer, Scouts gain a deeper understanding of the science that makes yo-yoing possible.
