A presentation for recognizing adventure completion and awarding Webelos Adventure pins.
Den
Gather the Webelos, family members, and any guests, and have them sit together in front of the Den Leader.
1. The Den Leader gathers the Webelos Scouts, family members, and any guests, and has them sit together in front of the Den Leader.
2. Denner stands next to the Den Leader with adventure pins.
3. Den Leader follows the script.
“DEN LEADER: Several of the Webelos in our den have earned the [name of adventure]. It is important for us all to recognize their hard work and celebrate this achievement. Adventure pins are worn on the adventure colors on your right sleeve. The three ribbons signify the various programs within Scouting America: gold for Cub Scouts, red for Scouts BSA, and green for older Scouting opportunities like Venturing, Exploring, and Sea Scouts. Wear your adventure pins with pride and the knowledge of a job well done.
Will the following Webelos please come forward to receive their adventure pin from our denner, [name], and tell us one thing you did to complete this adventure. (Den Leader calls name(s) and gives the Cub Scout handshake. The denner presents the Cub Scout(s) the adventure pin. Then, the Cub Scout(s) share their adventure memory.)
Webelos, did you do your best? (Pause and encourage enthusiastic responses.)
Webelos, remember that every time you learn something new or tackle a challenge, you’re building your own path to success, and that’s something to be very proud of! Each step, big or small, is a sign of your hard work and determination. Want to know the best part? There’s always more to learn and discover! So keep pushing yourself, stay curious, and never stop believing in your abilities. Your dreams are within reach, and with the effort you put in, you are getting closer to making them come true! Keep shining bright! Congratulations. Let’s give them a big round of applause.”
