  • One piece of paper for every Cub Scout
  • Scissors, one for every two Cub Scouts
  • Glue sticks, one for every two Cub Scouts
  • Old magazines
  • Crayons, colored pencils, or markers

Before the meeting:

  1. Investigate how wastewater is managed in your community: physical water treatment, biological water treatment, chemical treatment, or sludge treatment.
    • Where does the wastewater go to be cleaned?
    • How is it returned to the water cycle?
  2. Set up meeting space so that Cub Scouts have a place to create their poster.
  3. Set out poster supplies.

During the meeting:

  1. Using what you learned about wastewater in your community, share with Cub Scouts.
  2. Explain to Cub Scouts that they’re going to make posters showing what happens to wastewater in their community. Tell them that they can make a collage by using pictures from the magazines, they can draw, or they can do both.
  3. After Cub Scouts are finished, ask them to share their posters with the den and explain what happens to wastewater in their community.
