During the Meeting

  1. Line Cub Scouts up next to each other.
  2. Explain that you will call out different situations. They should decide if they need to wash their hands or not.
  3. If they should wash their hands, they should jump. If they should not wash their hands, they should freeze.
  4. Call out situations such as:
    • Talking to a friend.
    • Before eating.
    • After using the bathroom.
    • After reading a book.
    • After playing outside.
    • After completing your homework.
  5. At the end of the game, gather Cub Scouts.
  6. Discuss the proper way to wash hands using the information in Additional Resources.

Remembering 9/11, Focusing on Service

Twenty-five years ago, we saw the best of humanity rise to meet the worst of days. First responders ran into danger. Neighbors helped neighbors. Scouts offered a helping hand by sending water, supplies, and even putting notes of thanks inside gloves meant for heroes on the front lines. That’s the duty of every Scout — to help other people at all times. Today, we take a moment to remember. Then find a way to serve. That’s how we truly never forget.
