  • Cub Scouts will need their Lion handbook, page 5
  • Crayons, enough to share

Before the meeting:

  1. Set up the meeting space to allow Cub Scouts to work on the activity.

During the meeting:

  1. Gather Cub Scouts and adult partners and share with them that being a Cub Scout means that we always do our best.  Ask Cub Scouts when do they know that they did their best?  Allow Cub Scouts to answer.
  2. When everyone is done sharing, share with the den that only they know when they have done their best, but one thing is for sure, that doing nothing is never one’s best.  Explain that you and their adult partners will always want the Cub Scouts to do their best.
  3. The Cub Scout motto is just that Do Your Best, and when you are doing your best, you will always get the most out of what you are doing.  We will do a lot of new things in Cub Scouts, and you may not be good at everything we do the first time you try it.  To get good at something you have to practice and do your best.
  4. Have adult partners work with their Cub Scout to complete the activity on page 5 of the Lion handbook.
