  • Noise canceling headphones, one set for every two Cub Scouts
  • Timer

Before the meeting:

  1. Ask Cub Scouts to bring a set of noise canceling headphones to the den meeting.
  2. Set up meeting space with room free of obstacles and allow for Cub Scouts to move about.

During the meeting:

  1. Play a game of Simon Says. Have half the den wear the noise canceling headphones and half the den do the game without.
  2. Play the game for 5 minutes.
  3. Have Cub Scouts switch. The group without ear covering should wear earphones. Play for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Ask Cub Scouts about what it was like wearing earphones versus not wearing them.
