Who Can Earn This Award?
Earned by Scouting America members, Venturers, Sea Scouts and Explorers, and adult leaders in these programs.
How to Get the Award
Work with a qualified and certified Scouting America Aquatics Instructor or equivalent to complete the award requirements, including swimming a mile; then purchase award in Scout shop.
Supply Item Description and Uniform Placement
Round patch similar to a merit badge, white background with red “MILE SWIM” and seahorse. Blue border and fleur-de-lis; worn on swim suit, left leg side.
