Alumni Award

Overview

A recognition program to encourage participation and support in council alumni relations programs (including NESA activities). Areas of work include:

  • Using the Memories of Scouting to help reintroduce Scouting
  • Marketing of Scouting through words or images
  • Mentoring other Alumni while developing themselves
  • Helping the Membership of Scouting grow
  • Develop Manpower for the Program
  • Encourage resources for Scouting

Who Can Earn This Award?

The award can be earned by any registered and active Scouting adult who promotes the continued engagement of alumni with Scouting America.

How to Get the Award

Registered adult Scouters may submit a completed application for approval by the local council alumni committee. Approved applications are forwarded to the National Scouting Alumni Committee. Those approved will be sent a certificate that can be used to purchase a square knot from the Scout Shop.

Supply Item Description and Uniform Placement

The Alumni Knot may be worn on any field uniform shirt above the wearer’s left breast pocket.
