The revised 2022 National Camp Accreditation Program (NCAP) Standards Now Available

In early October the 2022 National Camp Accreditation Program (NCAP) released the 2022 NCAP Standards.   Numerous requests came in to clarify SQ-407.  It was determined that a revision was needed to make it easier for councils and camps to understand exactly what was required to operate their shooting sports programs.  Slight tweaks were made, and version 2 is now available.  The easiest way to check to see if your digital version is the most current version is to check the table of contents on SQ-407 and make certain that you have one that indicates the change date of January 2, 2022.  Please refer everyone to www.scouting.org/ncap  to download the new version.

We apologize for the confusion, but clarity is important for the safety of the program.  A printed copy will be sent to councils after the first of the year, with additional printed copies available for sale via National Supply beginning January 1, 2022.

We encourage all camp directors and program directors, rangers, short-term camp administrators, council NCAP chairs and staff advisers to have a current copy of the NCAP standards, either by free download or by purchasing a printed copy. The 2022 changes are indicated in the table of contents. The majority of the 2022 NCAP standard changes reflect the shift away from the region/area structure as well as clarifications to several standards. NCAP Circular #16 will be issued by December 1st which will detail in depth each adjustment. Questions? Email NCAP@scouting.org.
