Plan and carry out a project that involves the participation of your family. After completing the project, discuss the following with your counselor:
(a) The objective or goal of the project
(b) How individual members of your family participated
(c) The results of the project
Gather your family together and encourage everyone to provide input into the brainstorming
Once the project has been decided, finalize the goal of the project.
For example: Instead of cleaning the garage, a better goal is to create a fun and organized space for our family to hang out and build things together.
Provide each family member with specific tasks for the project. Think about each family member’s strengths and abilities.
Determine how long you will need to complete the project.
Take videos and before/after photos to show your results.
Helpful Tips
Create a visual aid for the family to review to get the discussion started.
A mind map is a great way to showcase your family’s ideas. Mind maps help you visually organize a central idea and its related sub-ideas.
