This session will cover the switch from Scoutbook Legacy to Scoutbook Plus. We’ll also show you new and upcoming features. Our experts know both versions of Scoutbook well and will share best practices from the field.
Wednesday, April 22 – Special Needs – Accommodations, Modifications, RBAE and More
Many people don’t know how to support their Scout who has special needs or where to get help. Scouts BSA advancement includes built-in ways to help, like accommodations (different ways to complete a requirement), modifications (changing requirements when absolutely needed), registration beyond the age of eligibility (RBAE), and other ways to help Scouts succeed. Are your Scouts experiencing all of the intended benefits of the merit badge program? When Scouts follow the merit badge process as designed, social skills improve, self-reliance grows, and interests are explored with a counselor who is a positive role model and an enthusiastic subject matter expert. Learn about the merit badge process, how to stay updated on requirements and resources, understand how to let the Scout lead and personally do the work, and methods to raise the bar for positive and memorable interactions.
