We’re thrilled to announce that Scouts BSA’s new National Youth Council has been selected and is now operational! These 40 outstanding Scouts were chosen from a pool of more than 200 exceptional applicants, representing troops from councils across the nation.
What the National Youth Council Does
This diverse group of youth leaders will play a vital role in shaping the future of Scouts BSA programming. Previous National Youth Councils have already made significant contributions, including:
- Providing feedback that shaped revisions to the Senior Patrol Leader and Patrol Leader Handbooks (forthcoming)
- Offering recommendations on uniform modifications
- Developing peer-to-peer recruiting best practices
- Briefed the National Executive Board
- And much more!
We can’t wait to see how this year’s council members will continue to make their mark and drive meaningful change in Scouts BSA!
