Covid-19 and Summer Camp

If the summer of 2020 and Covid-19 could be summed up in one word, it would be

“challenging”.

A majority of local councils made tough but responsible decisions in April and May not to offer any long-term camp opportunities for the summer. However, some councils did tackle the challenge and offered a modified version of traditional long-term camp sessions.

Did YOUR council offer camp this summer? How did you do it? What kind of special or unique preparations did you do to help deliver the Adventure of Scouting to youth? What were some of the resources you had available to assist in opening camp?

Help us tell the rest of Scouting about your council summer offerings,

whether it was an in-person or a virtual format. We want to hear from you!

If you would like to share your 2020 success with the rest of the Scouting Family, please send us your story along with some pictures for posting in the September Trail to Adventure blog. We’ll be happy to share as many as possible and look forward to getting them from you!

Please use a Microsoft Word format and send them by August 20 to either: brian.gray@scouting.org or jimkern.bsa@gmail.com

Thank you! We look forward to sharing your story!
