Whether it’s at a unit activity, a district camporee, or out with your family, Dutch oven cooking is a classic (and might we add, delicious) way to cook outside. Dutch oven cooking has deep roots in our Scouting outdoor programs with hundreds upon hundreds of recipes, ranging from super simple to crazy complex. You have may come across a new Scout leader or parent who is new to Dutch oven cooking and wants to learn more… where could they start, you might ask?
We recommend checking out the Scout Shop blog! Sharing “how-to” content with our unit leaders is a great way to encourage a stronger unit program. It can help new and experienced leaders all learn a little more on “how-to” deliver Scouting’s outdoor experience. If you haven’t checked it out, there are hundreds of awesome articles that are byte size (see what we did there?) and easy to digest. Each month we’ll feature a blog or two that you can share with your local council units!
