Do you have a totem pole or other similar structure in your camp?
Many camps have totem poles and flagpoles that are attractive to Scouting youth. These structures require the same inspection as other facilities/structures to make sure they are securely anchored and not suffering from structural defects that could make them unstable and a potential safety hazard. Check the area for wood particles or residue that could indicate bug infestation – a hazard that can compromise the stability of the structure. Any structure showing signs of decay, infestation, or instability should be repaired or removed immediately.
