If you love puppies, you have Cub Scout Pack 17 from Hazleton, PA, to thank for making sure some shelter pups sleep better tonight on National Puppy Day.
This pack of animal lovers teamed up with Bed 4 Paws, an organization that provides animal beds to shelters at no cost. These donations are only possible through the generosity and talents of volunteers like the young men in this Cub Scout pack.
PAHomepage reported the Scouts built at least a dozen dog beds and cat towers for animals without homes.
And in the spirit of celebrating canines on National Puppy Day, Cub Scout Brandon T. gave a very honest answer about serving with selflessness.
“Well, I don’t like cats, but I love dogs,” Brandon said.
Pet preferences aside, Brandon put helping shelter animals first. Along with his fellow Cub Scouts, he inserted piping into bedding to help raise sleeping animals off the ground.
Bed 4 Paws founder Paul Kattner explained, “This is a project where [the Scouts] do not get one thank you, because the animals cannot thank them.”
