  • List of threatened or endangered species, a list can be found at the Animal Welfare Institute website
  • 3“ x 5” index cards
  • Sharpie marker
  • Small bowl

Before the meeting:

  1. Using the 3” x 5” index cards write the name of a threatened or endangered animal on each card…
  2. Fold the cards and put them in the bowl.

During the meeting:

  1. Explain to Cub Scouts that they’re going to learn about a threatened or endangered species. They’ll choose their animal by picking a name from the bowl.
  2. Pass the bowl around, and have Cub Scouts pick out their animal.
