Exploring Faith chart found in Additional Resources
Directions
Before the meeting:
Select a religion that is different from the majority of Cub Scouts’ background. To help understand the differences, review the Exploring Faith chart.
Reach out to a local religious leader or community member from the chosen religion. Ask if they would be willing to come and speak to the den.
During the meeting:
Briefly discuss with Cub Scouts the concept of religious diversity and why it’s important to learn about different faiths.
Have religious leader provide a basic introduction to their faith. This can include information about beliefs, practices, rituals, and important cultural aspects.
Discuss with Cub Scouts how people from different religions might share common values and beliefs despite their differences.
