Turn Virtual 5K benefitting Feeding America
With the school closures, job disruptions, and health risks, millions of Americans are turning to food banks for much-needed support. This surge in need was not anticipated, but we can help!
On Saturday, May 2, families across the nation will unite from afar to help replenish the food supply for our friends and neighbors in need.
Join us for the National Good Turn Virtual 5K Hike benefitting Feeding America during the National Camp-In.
Scouting families and the general public are welcome!
Here’s how to participate:
Make your contribution. There is no formal registration. We ask that you make a voluntary donation of $25, or an amount that makes sense for you, to Feeding America. 100% of donations go directly to Feeding America.
Amplify your Impact. Share on social media that you’re participating in the 5K and encourage others to join in on this national effort to support those in need. Use #CampIn #GoodTurn5K #ScoutingAtHome.
Tune-in to the National Camp-In Facebook livestream on May 2nd. 2021 Paralympian and 2016 gold medalist David Blair will lead us in warmups and will kick off the 5K! Exact timing will be announced shortly.
Hike, walk or run. A 5K is 16,404 feet, but please feel free to go any distance that makes sense for you around your neighborhood, backyard or living room.
Make sure to follow local health guidelines and maintain proper social distancing.
Wear your racing bib and show your Scouting pride – uniform, neckerchief… Scout’s choice!
Share photos with us on social media using #CampIn #GoodTurn5K #ScoutingAtHome.
Celebrate your participation. Celebrate that you made an important difference by sharing photos before, during and after using the social media hashtags. Then rejoin the National Camp-In Facebook livestream for more activities and fun!
