If you are a Boy Scout or Venturer who will be between the ages of 14 and 17 on July 27, 2011, that is, specifically born between July 25, 1993, and July 27, 1997, you may be qualified for one of the coolest Scouting events you’ll ever attend. It’s Sweden’s turn at a World Scout Jamboree, held once every four years, and it is a special window of opportunity for you, too. It’s good to start your planning early. Approved applications are going to be highly prized. Because there is only one contingent permitted to attend from each country recognized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), demand always exceeds availablity and restrictions apply. As an adult leader among the BSA contingent, you can be an essential part of one of the most exciting and significant Scouting events you’ll ever attend. As a leader you are invited to come to Sweden and be a part of the world brotherhood of Scouting. Meet other Scouting leaders, encourage the Scouts to learn new skills and share your knowledge and experiences that will contribute to greater international understanding and at the same time do what Scouts of all ages love best. As a jamboree staff member, you can help make Scouting history in 2011. The theme of the 22nd World Scout Jamboree is “Simply Scouting.” Scouts and leaders are invited to come to Sweden and be a part of the world brotherhood of Scouting. The World Scout Jamboree host country has extended an invitation to Scouters that do not participate as a leader to be a part of their International Service Team (IST). As an IST participant, you will apply through the same process as an adult leader.
