1950 - 1959: Scouting’s Phenomenal Growth
On the 40th Anniversary, the U.S. Post Office Department issues the first Boy Scout stamp.
National programs in conservation and civil defense are introduced.
In 1954, the Webelos den is created as a bridge for crossing over to Boy Scouts.
By 1955, Scouting units number 100,000 and more than one million adults are registered as Scouters.
In 1958, the Exploring Program for older Scouts is implemented.
