Staff Logistics Atanerk
This person supervises the Interpreters, coordinates their schedules (trail and on base work assignments) and staff housing. Additionally this person assists in coordinating staff training and serves on a rotation as OKPIK Weekend Manager and Medical Officer. The Staff Logistics Atanerk reports directly to the Associate Director of Program for Ely Operations. To hold this position, one must be at least 21 years of age, have strong leadership abilities, hold a current driver’s license with a clean driving record, be able to successfully complete MN and USFS snowmobile training and hold current certification in CPR and as Wilderness First Responder.

Crew Logistics Atanerk
This person works with incoming crews to verify arrival times and also coordinates the crew check-in/out processes and crew orientation. Additionally this person assists in coordinating staff training and serves on a rotation as OKPIK Weekend Manager and Medical Officer. The Crew Logistics Atanerk reports directly to the Associate Director of Program for Ely Operations. To hold this position, one must be at least 21 years of age, have strong leadership abilities, hold a current driver’s license with a clean driving record, be able to successfully complete MN and USFS snowmobile training and hold current certification in CPR and as Wilderness First Responder.

Outfitting Atanerk
This person coordinates all aspects of the OKPIK Outfitting operation, including the Bay Post and Commissary (issuing of trail gear and food), as well as any dietary restrictions of participants. Additionally this person assists in coordinating staff training and serves on a rotation as OKPIK Weekend Manager and Medical Officer. The Outfitting Atanerk reports directly to the Associate Director of Program for Ely Operations. To hold this position, one must be at least 21 years of age, have strong leadership abilities, hold a current driver’s license with a clean driving record, be able to successfully complete MN and USFS snowmobile training and hold current certification in CPR and as Wilderness First Responder.

Mushing Atanerk
This person supervises the Mushing Interpreters and oversees all aspects of the dog sledding programs, including scheduling the Mushing Interpreters, working with the dog contractor and training staff in the dog programs. Additionally this person assists in coordinating staff training. The Mushing Atanerk reports directly to the Associate Director of Program for Ely Operations. To hold this position, one must be at least 21 years of age, have strong leadership abilities, hold a current driver’s license with a clean driving record, be able to successfully complete MN and USFS snowmobile training, be able to successfully complete dog training with the contractor and hold current certification in CPR and as Wilderness First Responder.
