American Backcountry Offers T-shirts from Recycled Water Bottles
American Backcountry now offers t-shirts made from 100% recycled water bottles featuring designs licensed by the Boy Scouts of America.
Frank Hintz of American Backcountry says, "This is the direction we have taken with our green products program. It significantly reduces the carbon footprint and yields a positive use from landfill products. Our goal is to build our green initiatives into the infrastructure in all facets of our operation. In the Scouting market this means marrying strong outdoor graphics with high quality performance apparel." explains Hintz.

Repreve yarns are made with 100% recycled water bottles, (i.e. Post consumer waste that would have gone to a land fill.)
The production of the fabric and cut and sew are done in a vertical operation in Colombia, which is the 11th greenest planet in the world due to almost 70% of its power grid being renewable energy (Hydroelectric).
Garments are stored and printed in a LEED certified building domestically.
Shirts are printed with either lead free plastisol or sublimation ink (aqueous based) in the same lead free facility.
