Boy Scouts of America® and Edison Nation® Select Two Youth Inventor Finalists for $1 Million Innovation Challenge

Boy Scouts of America® and Edison Nation® Select Two Youth Inventor Finalists for $1 Million Innovation Challenge

The Boy Scouts of America® (BSA) and Edison Nation® announce the selection of two youth inventor finalists from the Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge. The selected inventors from the Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge are:

Ian Wesley, a Boy Scout from Westerville, Ohio, who submitted the patent-pending ShowerLine Shower Caddy, a travel-sized method to carry, store and dispense toiletries.

Zach Huebner, a Boy Scout from Naperville, Ill., who submitted an idea for a new school management tool that will help students take better note of assignments.

Both ideas received a thorough review for intellectual property protection, market potential and engineering by Edison Nation's product review experts. Edison Nation will invest up to $1 million to develop the selected ideas and help bring them to market. The inventors will receive royalties for life from the sale of their products, be named the "inventor" on any issued patents, and may have an opportunity to appear on the award-winning Everyday Edisons television series.

The Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge, which ran from Jaunary through March 2012, issued a call for young inventors to solving today’s challenges with tomorrow’s products. The Challenge was open to all boys and girls age 7 to 21 years. Stay tuned for news about the 2013 Edison Nation Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge.
