Robert Kaufman Fabrics Launches Colorful New Line of Patriotic Designs

Robert Kaufman Fabrics introduces a line of cotton quilting fabrics with unique designs including patriotic themes with Scouting^® symbols, badges, values, and laws.

The product will be sold with two color palettes - one intended for Cub Scouts and the other for Boy Scouts. They will be sold in fat quarter bundles with pieces from the current Boy Scouts of America^® Fabric Collection, as well, to offer a complete coordinated look. The designs were created for their use in quilts and fun accessory projects such as camping gear, pajamas, and packs.

Robert Kaufman's Boy Scouts of America^® Fabric Collection is currently sold in 3000 independent retailers, plus larger specialty chains (including JoAnn's, Hancock's, and Hobby Lobby) and online retailers, eQuilter and Fabric Depot.

DK Publishing Introduces Norman Rockwell's Boy Scouts of America^® Coffee Table Book

Since the beginning of the Scouting movement in America 100 years ago, events have been recorded in paintings and drawings by an official artist. From 1918 through 1976, Norman Rockwell was the official artist. Then, from 1964 through to the present, Joseph Csatari, the protégé of Rockwell, has been the artist for the Boy Scouts of America.

These artists have recorded through their artistry the history of Scouting in America - from campouts, hikes, and Pinewood Derby^® races to public service projects. Their artwork celebrates the boyhood joys of Scouting while illustrating a code of honor and ideals that has shaped generations of young men.

Joseph Csatari, who authors the book with his son, Jeff, provides the background story behind the creation of more than 50 paintings Norman Rockwell painted for the Scouts. In addition, the book includes over 40 paintings Joseph Csatari created when he assumed the role of official artist when his friend and mentor Norman Rockwell retired in 1976.
