The Scouting Life

The promise of being a Scout is to see the great outdoors and the chance to go hiking, climbing, and camping are just a few of the things you’ll experience as you grow through Scouting. The root of Scouting, though, is about so much more. It’s about learning how to care for the environment as you explore it, learning how to give back to your community to make it a better place to live, and about being prepared to make good choices in life. Knowing what to do when things get tough is an important focus of the Boy Scouts of America. You’ll learn how to make smart decisions and how to be prepared to help your family and community in times of emergency. All of this important work is done with a spirit of having fun, meeting new challenges, and making great friends.
