SYMPOSIUM COURSE OFFERINGS
Did you know that the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Fundamentals of Fundraising Course will be required for all BSA local council development professionals in the future? Starting this year, the course will be offered at the National Development and Fiscal Management Symposium in Chicago (April 24–26) and Dallas-Fort Worth (May 19–21). Read more.
FEMA REVISING FLOODPLAIN MAPS
Does your council have facilities near one of the U.S. coasts or alongside a river? The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in the process of revising floodplain maps. These maps determine whether you will need to purchase flood insurance. Read more.

In the next few months, GuideStar is rolling out some exciting changes and improvements to the GuideStar Exchange program. Have you vsited "A Place to Give," the Boy Scouts of America’s e-funding platform for donations that was introduced to local councils in 2012? This site provides donors an opportunity to search by ZIP code and then donate to their local councils. Your council can add additional opportunities for donors to support its mission. Read more.
BLACKBAUD CRM ROUNDTABLES
The Council Fund Development Team continues to hold roundtables each Wednesday at 1 p.m. Central time for Blackbaud CRM. A different feature of the software is highlighted each month. We invite you to register for these monthly roundtables so you will have a basic knowledge of the software when your council converts to it. Read more.
BSA ASSET MANAGEMENT UPDATE
As of January 31, 2013, 45 local council affiliated partners representing $86.8 million in assets now use BSA Asset Management LLC (BSAAM) as an investment manager. In the three months ended January 31, 2013, the fund earned 5.34 percent while the one-year return was 12.21 percent. Read more.
