BLACKBAUD CRM UPDATE
The Finance Impact Department provides a weekly roundtable on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. CDT to acclimate local councils staff to the new Blackbaud CRM software. You may register to attend the roundtable on the Finance Impact website. By attending the roundtable, you receive access to the Blackbaud CRM Design site, where you can learn about the software and practice navigating through it. Functional topics change monthly. This process will give you a higher level of functionality after your council’s conversion to the new software.
The National Council continues to move closer to the launch of the software. The Akela interface team is currently mapping data fields to make the new membership software functional. Many of these fields need to be bidirectional to interface with BB-CRM so that changes in one (either Akela or BB-CRM) synchronize in real time. In April, Blackbaud will begin assisting the Boy Scouts in mapping its current database to the BB-CRM data fields. These fields contain fundraising and transactional data for each council, plus additional fields that would be helpful in BB-CRM for communication and segmentation. Akela is moving toward a June test period. BB-CRM is dependent upon successful database mapping and testing for Akela. There are also several test phases for BB-CRM to ensure that all fields are mapped correctly. This should begin during the third quarter.
