Ed Pease
Edward A. Pease—Scouting Alumni Association Chairman

Washington, D.C.

Edward Pease is senior vice president for Rolls-Royce North America in Washington, D.C., specializing in government relations. Prior to joining Rolls-Royce, Ed served two terms as a U. S. Representative of Indiana’s 7th District. During his congressional tenure, Ed served as a member of the House Judiciary Committee, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the House Small Business Committee, and as the Assistant Majority Whip with extensive service as Speaker pro tempore.

Ed serves on the executive board of the Crossroads of America Council, the National Order of the Arrow Committee, and is chairman of the Scouting Alumni Association. He is a Silver Buffalo Award recipient and has received the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.

Donald Cunningham
Donald J. Cunningham—Vice Chair, Engagement

New York, New York

Donald Cunningham is director of operations for a private family office in New York City. Previously, he was an investment banker specializing in mergers and acquisitions. In addition to his service on the Scouting Alumni Association board, Donald also serves on the board of directors for the Greater New York Councils and is a member of the National Order of the Arrow and Order of the Arrow steering committees. On behalf of the Order of the Arrow and the National Eagle Scout Association, he spearheaded the centennial celebrations of Eagle Scouting in America at the 2012 National Order of the Arrow Conference. In 2001, he represented the Boy Scouts of America as National Order of the Arrow Chief and as a member of the BSA’s National Executive Board.

James Delorey
James Delorey—Senior Vice Chair, Research

New York, New York

James is senior vice president, research of Global Strategy Group, a leading public affairs firm. He has directed research for clients such as the National Research Council, WGBH-Education Foundation, and Comcast, and served as the lead research analyst for Senator Joe Manchin, West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, and several members of Congress. James has been named a “Rising Star of Politics” by Campaigns & Elections magazine. James is also an Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, and former NE-1B section chief. He lives with his wife, Dr. Angela Ryan, and son, Perrin, in New York.

Rich Brenner
Richard M. Brenner—Western Region Chair

Los Gatos, California

Rich Brenner is the founder and CEO of The Brenner Group Inc. His firm provides specialized financial and management services. Rich has received many distinctions in Scouting, including the Silver Antelope Award, Silver Beaver Award, Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor, Baden-Powell Society member, and Second Century Society member. Rich serves as a member of the board of directors for the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council of the Boy Scouts of America, which he also has served as chairman of the board, and the Western Region of the BSA as the Scouting Alumni Association chair.

Rich and his wife Beth are proud parents of Eagle Scout Jim Brenner, his wife, Lara, and granddaughter Lily.

Bob Stuart
Bob Stuart—Central Region Chairman

Springfield, Illinois

Bob is a partner in the law office of Brown Hay & Stephens and specializes in estate planning, probate, and trust. A Distinguished Eagle Scout, Bob has served as council and area president, as his local council’s National Eagle Scout Association chair, and as his council’s trust and endowment chair. Bob is also heavily involved in other national and international nonprofit organizations.

Kevin Baldwin, PE

Glenview, Illinois 

Kevin is a professional mechanical engineer for Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LTD near Chicago, providing engineering services for government electrical, water distribution, and pumping application projects. Kevin is the liaison between the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity and the Scouting Alumni Association Committee. As a committee member for the National Scouting and Youth Services Committee for APO, he has been working on the partnerships between APO chapters and youth-serving organizations around the country. He is also a national camp assessor and is involved with the Northeast Illinois Council’s Wilderness Engineering Society, properties, NESA, and shooting sports committees.

Rick Bragga
Rick Bragga, JD, FAHP
Richmond, Virginia

Rick is president of Philanthropy1 consulting in Richmond, Virginia, providing board development, communications, and philanthropic services nationwide. A Distinguished Eagle Scout and lifelong Scouter, he has been involved with the Scouting Alumni Association since its beginning, presenting at Philmont Training Center, Boy Scouts of America National Annual Meetings, and “road shows” across the country. A former council NESA and SAA Committee chair, he also serves as a vice president of the National NESA Committee. He and his wife Debbie have one daughter, Kelsey, who served on the Philmont summer staff.

David is a Professor of Sociology, Graduate School Faculty, and Distinguished Teaching
Fellow at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He holds professional education credentials from Yale School of Medicine Child Study Center; Harvard Graduate School of Education; Harvard Divinity School Summer Leadership Institute; Princeton Theological Seminary Institute for Youth Ministry; and the Oxford Round Table, Oxford University.  He has served as both NESA and SAA Chairman in the Quapaw Area Council and as a member of the BSA National Executive Board. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award and the Silver Buffalo Award.

Toby Capps
Toby Capps

Renton, Washington

Toby is in medical and surgical product sales for McKesson, and is best known for his work with World Vision in creating the Caregiver Kit program, providing medical supplies to remote villages in 22 countries in Africa. He joined Scouting 49 years ago and became an Eagle Scout and a Boy Scouts of America National Youth Representative, serving as a member of the National Executive Board for two years. He currently serves as the operations chairman for the 2017 National Jamboree and the Western Region Chairman of the Order of the Arrow, and he sits on the National Order of the Arrow Committee, National Scouting Alumni Association Committee, Western Region Executive Board, and Chief Seattle Council Executive Board, where he chairs the NESA and SAA Committee. Toby and his wife of 33 years, Janairie, are proud parents of Eagle Scout son Kyle and daughters Ashley and Kelli, and are grandparents of Braxton Capps.

Devang, an Eagle Scout, is a shareholder with the law firm of Gaebe, Mullen, Antonelli & DiMatteo. He concentrates his law practice in the areas of insurance defense, product liability, transactional and commercial litigation, and bad faith consultation and litigation. Devang has been involved with the Boy Scouts since his youth and is the recipient of the Order of the Arrow’s Distinguished Service Award. He is a member of the South Florida Council Executive Board and currently serves as its vice president of marketing. He previously served as National Eagle Scout Association and Scouting Alumni Association Committee chair.

Tony is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow and Founder’s Award recipient from Kintecoying Lodge, Greater New York Councils. He is currently the council program vice president and a member of its executive committee. He serves on the National Order of the Arrow Committee as well as the National Scouting Alumni Association Committee. Tony is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, the Silver Beaver Award, and is a James E. West Fellow. Outside of Scouting, Tony serves as the president of the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni. He is a managing director at Manatt Health Solutions, where he is recognized as an expert in healthcare policy and finance.

Jason P. Hood

Memphis, Tennessee

Jason is the executive vice president, chief legal officer, and chief administrative officer for Sedgwick Inc., the leading North American provider of technology-enabled claims and productivity management solutions. He also serves as a member of the National Order of the Arrow Committee, helping to lead outreach efforts for alumni and friends. Jason serves as area president for SR-6. He has served as council president, council commissioner, and in a variety of other council and district volunteer positions. He recently stepped down as a Cubmaster and is now enjoying being a volunteer leader with his son’s Boy Scout troop. Jason and his wife also have a daughter. He has been an active Scout and Scouter for over 30 years.

Adèle is a public information officer for the Texas Department of Transportation. She handles media and public relations for the Wichita Falls region. She currently sits on the National Scouting Alumni Association Committee, is VP of Media and Publicity for the Northwest Texas Council and an assistant Scoutmaster. She is a Woodbadger and Order of the Arrow Brotherhood member of Lodge 35. She graduated from California State University Fullerton and spent 10 years in television news before working for the state of Texas. She has two children, Dillon, who is an Eagle Scout, and a daughter, Calista.

Jim Lynch

James "Jim" Lynch, Col, USAF, Retired

San Antonio, Texas

Jim is an executive associate with international defense policy think-tank U.S.-CREST Group, located in the Washington, D.C., area. A retired USAF officer, Jim enjoyed a wide variety of Scouting experiences from Scoutmaster to district chairman. He is the immediate past president of the 2800-member Philmont Staff Association, which he led from 2008 to 2013. He is a recipient of the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award. Jim is a member of the Boy Scouts of America’s National Joint Camping Task Force as well as the National Scouting Alumni Association Committee. Jim and his wife, Dr. Jane Lynch, have two sons, James and William.

Mike Movius
Michael Movius
Olympia, Washington

Mike is a retired executive and technology and organization development consultant. He is an Eagle Scout and life member of National Eagle Scout Association and has received the Silver Beaver Award. He is also a James E. West Fellow. Mike serves as chairman of the Pacific Harbors Council NESA and Scouting Alumni Association Committee. He is a recipient of the Washington State Patrol’s highest award for valor, the Award of Honor. He is on the board of the Puget Sound Civil War Roundtable and serves as its vice president of social media. Mike and his wife Denise have two sons, Steven and Kelsey, both Eagle Scouts.

Glenview, Illinois

Todd R. Plotner serves as Vice-President of the National Eagle Scout Association for Jamborees, NOACs and special events. Todd is an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 156 in Glenview, Illinois coordinating STEM initiatives. In addition to being the father of five children, Todd is a partner in the law firm Chapman and Cutler LLP focused on structured finance. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1998 (where he was a member of the Michigan Law Review) and a B.A. from the University of Illinois in 1995 (with highest distinction in Economics).

Alvin Townley
Atlanta, Georgia

Eagle Scout, author, and adventurer Alvin Townley has traveled the world uncovering and sharing stories of inspiration, adventure, and purpose – often told through encounters with Scouting alumni, from U.S. Senators to Navy SEALs to Olympians. His books on Eagle Scouts, Legacy of Honor and Spirit of Adventure, have been nationally-acclaimed, as has his newest best-selling book Defiant. He has worked on Capitol Hill, managed global strategy in the CEO’s office of a $10B consulting firm, and spoken in nearly 100 Scout councils across the country. A graduate of Washington & Lee University, he lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tony Vogl
Tony Vogl

Tony Vogl is director of development and marketing for the Connecticut Yankee Council, giving leadership to the year-round fund development efforts and alumni outreach in southwestern Connecticut. He has been an executive with the Boy Scouts of America since 2000. Tony became an Eagle Scout in 1995 as part of Troop 50 in Burlington, Vermont, and he is a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow and a good old Owl, too. Tony and his wife, Nicole, have a Tiger Cub and a daughter who is 13 years from joining Venturing.



Bill Steele
Bill Steele
Director of the National Eagle Scout Association and Scouting Alumni Association

As director of the National Eagle Scout Association and Scouting Alumni Association, Bill gives staff leadership to all aspects of Boy Scouts of America alumni programs, which total approximately 200,000 members.

Bill began his Scouting career in 1980 in San Antonio, Texas, serving as district executive, senior district executive, field director, finance director, and director of support services. From there he served successfully as Scout executive of the Cherokee Area Council in Oklahoma. Bill was promoted to the BSA national office in 2001 where he has served in various positions ever since. He is a graduate of Indiana University.

He has two adult children, three granddaughters, and two grandsons. Bill wrote and published two books about cutting-edge cave exploration, an endeavor he began pursuing as a Boy Scout in the early 1960s.

Ryan Larson
Ryan Larson, CFRE 
Associate Director of the Scouting Alumni Association

Ryan Larson became the associate director of the National Eagle Scout Association and Scouting Alumni Association for the Boy Scouts of America on April 1, 2013. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as senior development director with the Chief Seattle Council in Seattle, Washington.

Ryan grew up in Seattle where he earned his Eagle Scout Award. He served on Scout camp staff in the Cascade Pacific Council, including serving as aquatics director. He is a Vigil Honor recipient and has earned his Wood Badge Beads. Prior to becoming a professional with the Boy Scouts, he served as a Venturing advisor. A graduate of the University of Washington with degrees in political science and international studies, he began his professional Scouting career in 2002 in his home district in Seattle, Washington. He subsequently served as district director and development director in the Chief Seattle Council. Ryan is married and has three children.
