Slither into DK's Deck of Snakes and you'll find yourself tantalized

Slither into DK's Deck of Snakes and you'll find yourself tantalized

This handy deck will teach readers all about snakes, from the tip of their forked tongues to the rattles on their tails. This unique version of DK's popular decks contains a game element that is structured "War"-style (where each snake is awarded a point value according to its level of danger). Kids will have fun pitting a python against a king cobra, a boa constrictor against a viper, and more--all while learning how to recognize and identify each type of snake.

The anticipated release date is expected for June 2012. Look for the Deck of Snakes though the BSA Supply Group and participating bookstore retailers.

Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge launched!

Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge launched! The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and official licensee Edison Nation® have launched the Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge.

The Innovation Challenge is looking to today's kids to develop tomorrow's products. Whether the invention solves a problem around the house, the yard or at school; helps you take better care of your pet; or creates a new way to learn or play, the BSA and Edison Nation® goal is to inspire young minds to submit creative, new product ideas.

Open to all boys and girls age 7 to 21 years, the Challenge does not require that the young person be associated with the BSA to submit ideas or be selected as an "inventor."

Edison Nation works with everyday people and inventors to turn their extraordinary ideas into products sold by major retailers. It is free to join the Edison Nation® online community and costs just $25 to submit an idea ($10 for current Boy Scouts of America members who submit an idea as a part of this challenge). Because the Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge is for youth inventors, a parent or guardian is required to be involved during the submission process for those under the age of 18.

The Boy Scouts of America Innovation Challenge ends May 7, 2012. To learn more about the challenge or to submit an idea, visit www.edisonnation.com/boyscouts.

K & Company: Building the Brand Licensing Business

K and Company: Building the Brand Licensing Business

"To be successful in the creative consumer products industry, it's critical to understand what the consumer wants and what she feels she is missing," said Cara Farley, V.P. of Paper Arts Division at EkSuccess Brands®. "We value our licensed partnerships and enjoy the challenge of growing and strengthening our respective brands. K & Company is comprised of highly creative minds. We work in a fun and creative space, and enjoy collaborating and mixing it up."

"Working with the Boy Scouts of America as a licensee has allowed us to sell our products in retail channels where K & Company has not previously participated," Farley continued, "It has also allowed us to build our brand licensing business, and stretch into new kid-related categories."

While K & Company is known for high caliber design, it strives to innovate new product formats so that its consumer feels the products are fresh, fun and meets the paper crafting and scrapbooking needs.

"Typically, our consumer is the proud parent, usually a mom, of a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, or Venturer who enthusiastically enjoys memory keeping as much as she enjoys the opportunity to showcase all of her son's achievements in the Scouting program," explained Farley.

The Boy Scouts of America scrapbooking collection from K & Company was designed to encompass and celebrate all of the major advancement milestones that the BSA recognizes for its programs-from Tiger Cubs to Venturing, as well as activities such as Pinewood Derby® and the outdoor adventures that make the BSA exciting, like mountaineering, rock climbing, and even surfing! From stickers and embellishments to papers and personalized scrapbook albums, K & Company products provide a place to capture and share the memories that are made along the way.

The Boy Scouts of America scrapbooking collection from K & Company is sold in independent retail stores, the BSA Scout Shops, and on eksuccessbrands.com. To view the BSA scrapbooking collection, please visit: www.eksuccessbrands.com.
