With the support of more than 1.1 million volunteers and 127,119 community based organizations, the Boy Scouts of America provides educational programs to over 2.8 million young people, helping to build character, leadership capabilities, personal fitness, and training in responsible citizenship. As an example, the Good Turn for America national service initiative has contributed more than 8 million community service hours to address hunger, inadequate housing, and poor health since the program began in 2004. Through the dedication of Scouting partners and volunteers, the Boy Scouts of America continues to be the most influential character development and values-based training program for youth in America.
