Florida Sea Base Marine STEM
Experiential Learning is a key component to moving math and science from textbook to practical application. FSB and the Florida Keys provide an unmatched marine educational environment for young men and women to explore the “undersea wilderness.”
With the creation of the Florida National High Adventure Sea Bases Conference Center the Boy Scouts of America affirmed its desire to support local BSA Units, BSA Districts, BSA Councils, public and private schools of all levels, colleges and universities, churches of all faiths, and other not for profit agencies.
Florida Sea Base Marine STEM offers two bases of operation; Florida Sea Base in Islamorada and Brinton Environmental Center on Summerland Key. Big Munson Key, an uninhabited 100 acre island located off of Summerland Key, is also available for STEM education as is the Marine STEM Sailing Adventure chartered from FSB Islamorada.
While FSB does not provide STEM instruction, it does offer the opportunity for organizations to utilize FSB housing, food service, classroom and conference facilities, dive vessels, paddleboards, kayaks, snorkeling equipment for a reduced rate to provide STEM based programming.
As the leading charter of crewed vessels in North America and operator of the largest dive fleet in the Florida Keys, Florida National High Adventure Sea Base possesses unparalleled resources for partnership in STEM education.
Florida Sea Base Marine STEM programs are offered January, February, March, October, November, and December.
